Privacy Policy

The short version: Orisha Prayers is built to be private. Everything you create in the app — your saved prayers, ancestor names, notes, and settings — is stored only on your device and is never uploaded to us or anyone else. We do not have user accounts, we do not run analytics or advertising trackers, and we do not sell your data. The only information that leaves your device is what Apple and our payments provider need to process a subscription or purchase.

This Privacy Policy explains how the Orisha Prayers mobile application (the “App”) handles information. By using the App you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Information stored on your device

The App saves the following on your device so it can remember your practice. This information stays on your device (in the app’s local storage) and is not transmitted to us:

Saved prayers & favorites — prayers you mark with a heart.
Ancestor names — names you enter for your Egun / bóveda prayers.
Notes — any ritual notes or journal entries you write.
Your Orishas & profile preferences — tradition, initiation level, and language settings you choose.
App state — such as whether you have acknowledged the disclaimer and how many free prayers you have opened today.

Because this data lives only on your device, you can remove all of it at any time by deleting the App.

2. Purchases and subscriptions

The App offers optional in-app purchases and auto-renewing subscriptions. Payments are processed by Apple through your App Store account — we never see or store your credit card or payment details. To manage entitlements (i.e., to know which subscription you have), we use RevenueCat, a subscription-management service.

When you make or restore a purchase, the following may be processed:

Your subscription/purchase status and history (which plan, whether it is active, trial status).
An anonymous, randomly generated app-user identifier and standard device/App Store identifiers used to validate the purchase receipt.

We do not collect your name, email address, or Apple ID through this process. Purchase processing is handled under Apple’s and RevenueCat’s respective privacy policies (see “Third-party services” below).

3. Notifications

If you enable notifications, the App schedules local reminders on your device for feast days and your practice. These are generated on your device and are not sent from a server. You can turn them off at any time in your device Settings. We do not use notifications for advertising.

4. Information we do NOT collect

We do not require or offer user accounts, logins, or passwords.
We do not use analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking SDKs.
We do not track you across other apps or websites.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or microphone.

5. Third-party services

The App relies on these providers only for the functions described above:

Apple App Store — payment processing and app delivery. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.
RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management. See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.

6. Children’s privacy

The App is rated for general audiences and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App does not collect personal information through accounts or analytics, no such information is gathered regardless of the user’s age.

7. Data retention and deletion

On-device data: retained until you delete it in the App or uninstall the App.
Purchase records: retained by Apple and RevenueCat according to their policies and as required for billing, tax, and fraud-prevention purposes. To cancel a subscription, use Settings → [your Apple ID] → Subscriptions on your device.

8. Security

On-device data is protected by your device’s operating-system security. Purchase data handled by Apple and RevenueCat is transmitted over encrypted connections. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we design the App to minimize the data involved.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. Because your in-app data is stored only on your device, you can exercise these rights directly by editing or deleting your content or uninstalling the App. For any purchase data held by our providers, contact us using the details below and we will help you make a request to the relevant provider.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and post the new version at this URL. Material changes will be reflected in the App or its store listing.
